WHAT
The Saint Timothy Lutheran Family Life Center Building Project! That’s
right—the project is alive and well, but it is different. Our previous
experience was not the success we hoped for, but we have learned some
valuable lessons. The most important is that we must have maximum participation
and that means we need YOU!
WHO
Us—the people of St. Timothy!
This time around we are undertaking this project with our congregational
resources. At this time, we have no plans to use any external fund-raising
or project management consultants.
We have established some key groups to see us through this very important
initiative.
The
Communication Task Force has the responsibility to inform the congregation
of all the activities, meetings, and decisions of the building project.
(You’re reading some of our work right now!) If you’re interested in helping
with this group, contact Cathy Almquist at 569-1890.

The
Building Committee isn’t a new group at all—they’ve been busy for
a couple of years! They have been working with an architect and investigating
different building options. Although much of their work is complete, they
can still use your help. Contact Robert Lawing at 572-9398.
The
Resource Club (they don’t like “committees”) has the responsibility
of investigating different financial options for the project. They’re
planning to look at a variety of potential resources—including grants
and other non-traditional sources, in addition to traditional financing.
If you can help this group, please contact Valeri Dougherty at 797-2329.
You’ll soon be hearing a lot from our Fund-Raising Group. This
enthusiastic bunch has already started planning for a variety of activities.
Raising the necessary funds for this project is a huge undertaking and
they need your help! Contact Eileen Dunscombe at 572-2883 to help out.
The Steering Committee has the responsibility for oversight of
the project. Steering Committee members include the leaders and Council
liaisons from each of the previous groups. If you have

questions
or comments for this group, contact Doug Tedford at 569-3832.
WHEN
Throughout the summer, you’ll hear more and more about this project. On
August 29th we’ll make firm both our building and financing plans. The
“heavy-duty” fund-raising will kick off in the fall.
