CROSS TRAINING: What Is It? Strengthening our spiritual muscles involves more than passively doing what we’ve always done. In order to build strength, in order to gain flexibility, in order to increase endurance, we as followers of Jesus Christ must engage in an intentional training program focused on the cross. The discipline involved in maintaining a rigorous training program provides us the energy, resistance, and fortitude needed to live the demanding life Jesus requires of His followers. Any exercise program is easier to follow with a partner. You will be encouraged to find a Cross Training partner here as well. Cross Training partners hold each other accountable to steady growth in learning and living as committed disciples of Jesus Christ. Cross Training partners encourage and support each other along the way. Cross Training partners pray for and with each other. St. Tim’s Cross Training is an ongoing program designed to guide participants as they explore ways to learn and live the principles, values, and characteristics of true discipleship. Becoming spiritually mature is a process; one that requires learning and practice.
