Guess what’s swinging up ahead? Rainforest
Adventure Vacation Bible School! This exciting VBS is for everyone from
Age 3 thru Grade 5. At VBS you’ll hear stories about Jesus, make cool
crafts, learn catchy tree top tunes, play fun games, and make new
friends! Each day offers a new Bible story to explore through loads of
fun activities.
Set in the canopy of a
vibrant and exciting rainforest environment, this lively VBS program
will engage your kids as they discover that everyone can do their part
to care for God’s creation. Through kid-friendly stories that emphasize
stewardship, combined with a jungle of hands-on, fun-filled activities,
at Rainforest Adventure kids will learn that it is fun and faithful to
share the good news of Jesus’ love with everyone!
Middle schoolers, high
schoolers, and adults interested in being a teacher or helper can call
your VBS director, Valeri Dougherty, at 553-4175. The nursery will be
staffed each night of VBS for those who have children younger than 3 and
want to attend the adult class or help teach.
And finally, invite your friends, neighbors, and
family members!

Bill the Toucan

Toucans give music to
the rainforest with their loud,
distinct cry.
Toucans are known in many areas of the rainforest as “Dios te de”
(God gives to you) because their call sounds like this expression.

Schedule
VBS will begin promptly at 5:45 pm each evening
with an opening celebration in the sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to
attend the opening with your child. Then from 6:00-8:00 pm the children
will rotate through these 8 exciting activity sites: Sky High
Storytelling, Canopy Crafts, Rainforest Rhythm, Forest Foods, Green Tree
Games, Adventure Drama, Swing Vine Science, and Bible Blast Extensions.
From 8:00-8:15 pm everyone will gather in the sanctuary for the closing
celebration. Parents are invited to attend the closing or will need to
come into the sanctuary to pick up their child at 8:15 pm.
Adult Class
Our Associate Pastor,
The Rev. Brad Bellah will teach an adult class. The adult class
will attend the opening, go to their own classroom for the lesson,
and then finish in the sanctuary for the closing. Can’t make it the
entire week? That’s OK. You can attend all 5 nights, just one
night, or anywhere in between.
Offering
Children are encouraged to give an offering
each night along with a canned food item. All monetary offerings
and canned goods will go to Helping Hands of Goose Creek.
Closing Program and Picnic
We will have our closing program Saturday June 21st
at 12:00 pm. All children and their families are encouraged to
attend! Each class will give a presentation. Please wear your VBS
t-shirt! Following the program in the sanctuary (about 12:30 pm), we
will bless the food and walk outside for a picnic lunch. We will
provide the hamburgers, hotdogs, and buns. We ask you to bring a drink
or a side dish to share. The sign-up sheet will be posted in the
narthex during the week of VBS.
T-shirts
Get into the excitement with a Rainforest Adventure
t-shirt! Just bring a t-shirt (of any solid color) with you to VBS
Monday through Thursday nights. We will iron on our VBS logo and return
it to you that same night. We hope you will wear your t-shirt to VBS
each evening and especially wear it Saturday for our program and picnic.
If you have any questions, please call Valeri
Dougherty
(553-4175) – Rainforest Adventure Director.
